Project Details

During the summer the school district discovered evidence of water intrusion in a couple of classrooms. Following the removal of the interior finishes, the general contractor and school district officials determined that further investigation and repair recommendations were required. They engaged Pacific Engineering Technologies to provide repair recommendations to the damaged areas and to review the exterior of the building and roof to identify locations of potential damage and maintenance requirements.

What We Did

Further review determined the asphalt roof shingles had failed in places and had reached the end of their useful life. It was determined to remove and replace the asphalt shingles and underlayment. During the course of the project, we provided construction support and installation review, including writing reports and conducting client meetings.

Project Results

This elementary school was suffering from the expiration of a roof system that had outlived its useful life. By replacing the roof system on the school we ensured that students had a dry and safe place to learn. We also ensured that the work was done according to code by a qualified contractor. Now this elementary school can have confidence that the repairs will last for decades to come.
