Single Family Residence – Seattle, WA
Fire Damage Reconstruction
On April 1, 2013 an arson fire partially destroyed three residential properties in the Lower Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. We were retained by the owner’s contractor of one of the fire-damaged structures to review the extent of damage and prepare drawings to obtain the required building permits and for the reconstruction of the fire damaged residential structure.
The residence was originally constructed as a single-family home more than 100 years ago in 1909 and remains in a neighborhood of similar homes. We conducted several site visits to document the extent of the fire damage and determine the significant features of the structure. Our drawings incorporated code upgrades and owner modifications into the final design, and maintained the character of the home that is consistent with the surrounding neighborhood.
