Single Family Residence – Bellevue, WA
Fire Damage Reconstruction
On July 14, 2003, a fire severely damaged this residence along the east shoreline of Lake Washington located in Bellevue, Washington. We were retained by the property owners to prepare architectural and structural construction documents, which were used for permitting and construction.
We worked in coordination with the City of Bellevue, the contractor, the geotechnical consultant, and the homeowner to reconstruct a new residential structure within the same footprint as the existing structure. Our design incorporated existing portions of the foundation and concrete piles into the new structure, as well as the code upgrades required by the City of Bellevue.
During the reconstruction phase of the project, we responded to construction questions from the contractor and interacted with the building officials and insurance company agents in order to keep the project moving forward in a timely fashion.
