Apartment Building - Seattle, WA
Temporary Shoring Design
Extensive wood framing decay repairs were already in progress at this five-story residential building when we were contacted by the contractor. The engineering firm involved from the beginning of the project could not provide temporary shoring recommendations and so we were brought in for this purpose. The defective construction of the waterproofing around the main floor courtyard area had caused heavy decay at the bottom of the walls such that the entire length of the wall needed replacement. We designed shoring to hold up the four floors above while the first floor framing was replaced. We also provided numerous other specific shoring measures for decay repairs at other decks, four-hour separation walls and exterior wall locations.
